FTSE launches NSE Kenya Index Series

FTSE NSE Kenya Index Series FTSE launches NSE Kenya Index Series On 8 November we underscored our commitment to providing African investors with world-class investment tools through the release of the FTSE NSE Kenya Index Series, a series of indices which track the performance of the largest and most liquid stocks listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

The new indices support the growing demand for investment and diversification opportunities in Africa. The indices were developed after an extensive consultation process with Kenyan asset owners, fund managers and liquidity providers. These key market participants highlighted the need for a new set of tradable indices and robust range of performance benchmarks. The indices have been designed to be suitable as the foundation for ETFs and other index-linked products. Attending the launch event, which was held on the trading floor of the NSE, were Donald Keith, FTSE’s Deputy CEO and Jonathan Cooper, FTSE’s Managing Director of Middle East & Africa.
